Unfortunately sometimes pets will need to be hospitalised. Some investigations and procedures can only be performed in a hospitalise environment.
This could be due to safety (e.g. x-rays) and needing specialist equipment (e.g. ultrasound). Or needing a sterile environment (e.g. surgery) or 24 hour supervision (e.g. when on fluids).
For these rare circumstances your pet would need to go into the clinic but otherwise routine vet care can be provided in the comfort of your own home.
Generally any veterinary emergency you will be best going straight in to the clinic too. This is because I am on the road and in long consults there is likely going to be a delay from when you contact to me getting to you. But also, in a real emergency, we probably need to use some of the above and have access to there and then blood results etc too.
We work with Lime Trees Veterinary Clinic to provide any hospitalisation and treatment/surgery your pet may need. And VetsNow (based at Lime Trees Meir Park Hospital) for out of hours cover.
Home visits are suitable for other, less urgent treatment and preventative care and appointments can be made in advance by contacting us.
If you do need to go into a clinic for whatever reason, and transport is difficult for you, please see our list of pet taxis to help you and your pet.
