Project Description
Procedures
We can perform a wide range of procedures normally offered in the vet clinic in the comfort of your own home. This means less stress for you and your pet but the same great service!
Claw Clipping
We can trim your dogs, cats or rabbits claws at home. During a consult for something else or Dr Katie can come out just to clip their claws, especially if there is an ingrowing claw which can be very painful.
Anal Glands
Some dog’s may suffer from impacted or infected anal glands which can be very sore. You will likely see your dog scooting their bum along the floor, messing with their back end or smelling “fishy”. If so it is best to get them checked and Dr Katie can empty them out making your pooch much more comfortable.
Ear Cleaning and Exam
If your pet has a sore or smelly ear, or more discharge than normal they may need it checking. Dr Katie can clean your pet’s ears out and examine them to see if they require any further treatment.
Eye Exams
A full eye exam can be undertaken at home, although a darkened room makes this much easier so we may have to shut the curtains. Dr Katie can examine your pet’s eyes including testing tear production and using dye to check for ulcers.
Wound Care & Bandage Changes
Minor wounds which don’t require stitches can be cared for in the home environment, whereas more serious ones would require going to the clinic for surgery. If your pet has a longer wound or injury which requires regular bandage changes Dr Katie can undertake these at home as and when necessary.
“I have used Katie on a couple of occasions now and can’t thank her enough.”

These visits are also often stressful for people, can be inconvenient times and difficult to get to if you don’t have access to transport. You can get on with your life at home and Dr Katie will arrive and start the consult straight away.
In the clinic you will often be allocated only a 10 minute appointment which is a rush to fit in history taking, clinical exam, treatment, questions and history writing!
